MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) – Memphis police have charged a man with first-degree murder in connection to his wife's death.

The Memphis mother died in a shooting in the 3600 block of Firethorne Drive, which is about one block west of Hickory Ridge Mall.

Family members tell Action News 5 34-year-old Sharice Turner was found dead inside her home on Friday morning. Police questioned her husband Dedrick Turner, 34, at 201 Poplar.

Police lights and tape lined a cove early Friday morning. The victim's father says he's lost everything.

"I really don't have nothing else to live for," said John Crowder.

He received a call on Friday, that something happened at his daughter's home just after 2 a.m.

"When I got here and saw them cars I got the news, I knew something was bad that had happened," said Crowder.

He says his daughter Sharice, also 34, was shot inside her home.  Memphis police aren't saying much, only that a man and woman were inside with their kids when shots rang out.  "I just want to know what happened.  I don't know what happened," said Crowder.

He says Sharice and her husband Dedrick have two kids, a boy and girl, ages 7 and 8.

Crowder says Sharice left a few times in the past because of domestic issues.  He added nothing as bad as this has ever happened.  "I don't know where to go, I really don't have anything to live, that's all I had.  And I had her since she was 5, her mother got killed in a car wreck," Crowder said.

Family members say Dedrick owned several guns, where he stored them in the house.   Crowder said law enforcement is trying to decide who will take custody of the children.
