FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) -

The city of Fort Payne is still trying to assess all the damage caused by Thursday night's storms.

Several tractor trailers were flipped over and portions of the roof was torn off at the Jet Polymer Recycling facility. Two employees were reportedly inside the building at the time of the storm, but were not injured.

Roofs were ripped off homes and apartments in the area. At least two houses on Green Valley Circle sustained major damage. According to the National Weather Service, 25-30 people were displaced after a roof was blown off an apartment complex just north of County Road 137 and I-59.

The National Weather Service will send out crews Friday morning to assess the damage and investigate whether or not a tornado hit the area.
