LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A fatal plane crash at LaGrange-Callaway Airport Saturday afternoon killed three people onboard the flight. Vincent Rossetti, 60, Willy Lutz, 69,and Jeffrey Curtis, 53, were the victims.
Two victims died at the scene and a third was airlifted to the Columbus Medical Center and later died of his injuries there. The three men were each from Peachtree City, Ga.
LaGrange Police responded to the crash at approximately 2 p.m. Police say the 1980 Beech fixed wing multi-engine plane nosedived into the ground and was heavily damaged. Fuel spilled from the damaged plane and onto the ground.
The incident remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and local law enforcement.
Jeffrey Curtis was a family physician practicing in Peachtree City. His wake is scheduled for Wednesday Feb. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mowell and Sons Funeral Home in Peachtree City. His funeral will be held Thursday Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at Dogwood Church in Tyrone.
Vincent Rossetti was the CEO of Ravin Homes in Peachtree City. His visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell and Son Peachtree City Chapel. His memorial service will be Friday Feb. 28 starting at 1 p.m. at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, located at 225 Robinson Road Peachtree City, Ga.
Willy Lutz was a flight instructor and retired flight instructor from Delta Air Lines. Information about his visitation and funeral has not been made available yet.
