NWS: EF-1 tornado touched down in Coffee County last week

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Coffee County on Thursday.

The NWS reports the tornado touched down along Interstate 24 about three miles northwest of Pelham.

Several trees were uprooted along Betsy Willis Road and some barns lost their roofs in the storm.

According to NWS, the tornado's path was 1.2 miles long and it was 250 yards wide.

Winds reportedly got up to 90 mph.

This is the only tornado that has been reported after severe storms swept through Middle Tennessee Thursday night.
