USC pitcher earns SEC honors for 2nd straight week

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

For the second straight week, University of South Carolina pitcher Wil Crowe has been honored by the SEC.

Crowe was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his performance this past weekend against Eastern Kentucky. Last week, he was named SEC Pitcher of the Week.

Crowe worked 6.1 scoreless innings in Sunday's 6-run shutout victory over Eastern Kentucky with four hits allowed and one walk to pick up his second win of the season.  Crowe has 10 strikeouts in a team-high 12.2 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .100 against him.

South Carolina returns to action this weekend with a three game-series against Clemson. First pitch for the opener at Carolina Stadium is at 7 p.m. Friday. Saturday's Reedy River Rivalry Game from Fluor Field in Greenville begins at 2 p.m. Sunday's series finale at Clemson starts at 4 p.m.
