Bulger's Beat: Dodgeball moves from playground to indoor sports park

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Many schools banned the game of dodgeball years ago, but a popular movie helped revive it. Now, kids of all ages are playing the free-flowing, rubber-ball throwing game at Sky High Sports in Nashville.

The rules haven't changed. To stay alive in the game, you must just dodge the ball. Except on this playing field, many of the surfaces double as bouncy trampolines.

Everything inside Sky High Sports blows apart the theory that kids today would rather just play video games. Jumping and moving never gets old when you're young.

Sky High Sports is on Harding Place toward Antioch. Though the games aren't cheap - the first hour costs $14 - the price does go down if you stay longer. So to get your money's worth, be ready to "dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge" until you're tired.
