JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It's a cloudy day with a chance for rain showers, but at least the thermometer is where we want it to be! The same can't be said for tomorrow.

It all starts with the rain showers we're expecting within the next 24 hours. Through the morning we've already seen some rain and storms near the Delta, although the threat for rain and storms through the afternoon is on the low side. It's a good idea to keep the umbrella on hand, but expect a generally cloudy day.

Heading into this evening, rain will become more widespread and winds will increase. Expect winds of 15-30mph out of the northeast. This will bring in cool air and prevent our temperatures from rising above the low to mid 40s on Wednesday afternoon. Some good news though is that we're expecting skies to dry through the course of the day.

We'll stay chilly through Thursday before warming back up on Friday.
