Nathan Schroer makes video appearance at I Am Second Live

Members of the community came together for 'I Am Second Live', an event focused on videos submitted by people from across the nation dealing with personal struggles.

Organizers say the I Am Second is a movement focused on short films about people from all over, including some celebrities and athletes, talking about personal hardships in short videos.

At the end of the clip they talk about what 'I Am Second' means: being second to God. Those videos are posted online for anyone to view.

Prior to his passing, Evansville Detective Nathan Schroer, who died in November from cancer, made one of those videos.

It was shown for the first time Thursday night.

"I thought about my daughters getting married and how I wasn't going to be there," said Schroer in the video. "Thought about my son not having a father... and I hurt."

After seeing his video, most of the room was quiet and emotional.

The film featuring Detective Schroer will officially launch in April surrounding the annual Guns and Hoses 911 Gives Hope Event in Evansville.
