WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Warrick County Election Board has reported that 3,791 votes were not reported during the 2012 general election due to human error.

Officials tell 14 News the votes were omitted were cast on the absentee-in-person ballots cast in the Warrick County Clerk's office.

We're told that those omitted 3,791 votes would not have affected the outcome of any race.

"I'm deeply concerned about the report out of Warrick County today that more than 3,700 absentee ballots were not counted during the November 2012 General Election. I appreciate Warrick County Clerk Sarah Redman bringing this to our attention and for immediately investigating this matter," says Secretary of State Connie Lawson.

Electronic Voting Vendor MicroVote says the human error took place during transfer of votes from absentee voting machines to central computer.

Election Board President Rick Martin says he has voted absentee-in-person in past elections and will continue to because he's confident in system.

We're told the election board will meet before May 6 primary to ensure all ballots cast in that election are included in official return

Lawson has called for a non-partisan voting system program to review the voting procedures used during the election.
