COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police have issued a BOLO for a sexual assault suspect who is apparently targeting victims between 60-80 years old.
The assaults occurred between Feb. 25 and March 3 in the areas of 50th St., River Rd. and Hunter Ct.
According to police, the suspect knocks on the victim's door and asks for directions. He then sexually assaults them after gaining their trust.
The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 20-35 years old who stands between 5'8"-5'9" tall. He has a slender build, light complexion, and is clean-shaven with a low haircut. He is well-spoken and possibly wears business casual clothes.
He was seen driving a newer model gray or silver four-door Dodge Charger that has a spoiler on the rear.
The most recent assault took place on March 3rd in Columbus. Police responding to a burglary on Hunter Court found the 59-year-old victim lying on the floor inside her home. The victim told police she was raped in her bedroom by a stranger. All of the doors in the home were locked, and police entered through a broken window in the back of the home.
Similar cases were also reported in Phenix City, Russell County, and Lee County.
The suspect is considered to be dangerous.
