COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus chapter of Spelman College's National Alumnae Association invites everyone to watch the Spelman College Jazz Ensemble perform tomorrow night at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Sherrie Gilbert, a Spelman alumna, tells us more about it.

The Spelman College Jazz Ensemble is one of the few all-female jazz ensembles out there. It is composed of women from Spelmen College who travel across the country to raise funds for the school. The ensemble is on tour, and Columbus is just the first city where they will perform. After Columbus, you can catch the group in Huntsville, Ala., and then they will tour across the East coast.

The funds will go to the Columbus alumnae chapter and will be used to benefit Spelman students.

The event will be held Saturday, March 8 at the RiverCenter at 7 p.m. Call 706-592-8747 for more information.

You can expect to see a talented group of inspirational vocalists, percussionists, and instrumentalists perform their best tomorrow night.

If you want to catch a sneak peek of the performance, the ensemble will be rehearsing Saturday afternoon at the RiverCenter at 3 p.m.
