Retired Army Ranger holds grand opening for US Senate Campaign headquarters

Posted: Updated:

When the US Congress hit the fiscal cliff, retired 1SGT Todd Robinson decided he could do better than our current lawmakers—and he meant it.

Robinson, a Columbus resident, has qualified in the race for US Senate. He's now seeking to fill the seat of Senator Saxby Chambliss, who is retiring this year.

Robinson is a retired army ranger, an ex-firefighter, and now an educator. He and several of his supporters held a grand opening at the campaign headquarters this afternoon, March 8.

Robinson says he brings a fresh perspective, with fresh ideas to the table.

"We have to educate and empower our citizens in order to be productive," says Robinson. "It's going to take every Georgian doing their part to make it work. To turn around our economy, and I want to be one of those Georgians that do what they say they're gonna do."

In a matter of full disclosure, Robinson is married to WTVM News Anchor Cheryl Renee.
