An inmate being held at the Maricopa County Jail on charges of stealing copper wire faces similar charges in Yavapai County when he is released.

An arrest warrant was issued on Monday by YCSO investigators for Ronald Moore, 25, of Phoenix.

Phoenix police notified YCSO that Moore might be a possible suspect in copper wire thefts in Yavapai County.

A YCSO detective discovered Moore had recently sold wire to a scrap metal dealer that was an exact match to the wire stolen in this case.

YCSO detectives said they also linked Moore to theft of wire from light poles in October 2013 along Highway 69 in Cordes Junction.

Physical evidence gathered from the scene in Yavapai County also linked Moore to the theft, YCSO said. Total loss from both incidents totals more than $30,000.

The Yavapai County arrest warrant will be served immediately upon his release from custody in Maricopa County. He will then be taken to the Camp Verde Detention Center to answer new local theft charges in Yavapai County.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
