Attorney Stacey Jackson, a prominent defense attorney in Muscogee County, kicked off his campaign for the Georgia House of Representatives today, March 12.

Jackson is running for the 137th District seat, which is currently held by Representative Debbie Buckner.

"I am definitely committed to three things," says Jackson. "Economic advancement, job creation, and education. I sum it up to those three things."

Jackson says he believes all of these issues work in tandem to reduce the crime rate in the district. In addressing literacy rates, he says, "If a child doesn't learn how to read by the end of third grade, there's a great likelihood of imprisonment, and I have to deal with that a lot with my job, not only as a former assistant district attorney, but as a defense attorney now."

Jackson goes on to explain, "If you fix the literacy rate, then you have educational opportunities for those kids, you've got job creation, then what happens? Crime goes down. So they're all related to one another."

Jackson is running as a Republican with the campaign slogan: "A vision for a better tomorrow". He grew up in Harris County, and still lives there today.
