SPRINGERVILLE, AZ (CBS5) -

Officials are closing part of the Show Low Lake area to protect a nesting bald eagle.

The U.S. Forest Service said the closure impacts Show Low Lake on the Lakeside Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and includes land and water on the southeastern side of the lake.

The Forest Service is concerned the noise will impact the eagles.

The area is expected to be closed through Aug. 31, 2014.
