FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 47-year-old convicted felon was arrested Monday after Pinal County sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at his Casa Grande residence and found a handgun and drugs among other items.

Deputies said they suspected Henry Albert Marquardt was dealing illegal drugs out of his residence, and took him into custody as he was walking near his home about 12:45 p.m., said Tim Gaffney of the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Marquardt was carrying a gram of methamphetamine and an air-soft pistol fabricated to look like a real handgun, Gaffney said.

A subsequent search of his home turned up several more modified air-soft weapons and a .38-caliber handgun, along with several glass pipes, other drug paraphernalia and numerous rounds of ammunition, Gaffney said.

Detectives also found 13 unlabeled pill bottles containing an assortment of prescription drugs and methamphetamine inside the Marquardt's bedroom, Gaffney said.

The front door to his residence was screwed closed from the inside to prevent any entry into the home and he had a security camera mounted above his door, Gaffney said.

Marquardt was booked into the Pinal County Jail for possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, misconduct involving a weapon (prohibited possessor as a convicted felon), and fortifying a structure with the intent to suppress law enforcement.

Additional charges were pending regarding the prescription drugs.

Gaffney said that since 2012, Marquardt has been arrested in Pinal County for probation and parole violations, several drug offenses, unlawful flight, burglary, traffic offenses and numerous outstanding warrants.

The Coolidge Police Department assisted the PCSO in Marquardt's arrest, Gaffney said.
