    Residents in east Alabama are rounding up the Labor Day celebration at one of the Alabama's oldest courthouses. The courthouse located in Seale, Ala. is the third oldest in the state. This is the first fair since 2010 when the fair restarted, and it originated in 1980 to raise money to refurbish the old courthouse after it began to deteriorate.More >>
FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -

More than 1,000 JROTC cadets, educators, mentors, collegiate shooters, Army Centers of Influence and other guests of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in addition to 150 future Soldiers converged at Fort Benning on Thursday, March 13, for the Fourth Annual Army Strong Experience.

Michael Molina with Fort Benning's Public Affairs Office says, "One of the missions of our unit is to connect America's Army to it's people. So we thought there was no better way to do it here at Fort Benning, with all of the assets that are here, with the Rangers in Action. You've got Airborne School, we have the marksmanship unit. So you have a lot of ways that the Army can showcase all of its capabilities, and that's why we're here today."

The experience provides cadets with the opportunity to learn first-hand about the Army, and showcases capabilities of the Army through an array of demonstrations from units on post, such as the Rangers in Action demonstration, USAMU Shotgun and Action Shooting Steel Shooting pistol demonstrations, and Silver Wings Parachute demonstration.

Attendees also had the opportunity to jump from the 34-foot Airborne training tower, receive hands-on pistol training, and experience the Army's Adventure Semi Mobile exhibit, a culmination of hands-on and interactive systems which enable the public to get a glimpse of what it's like to be a Soldier in the technically-advanced U.S. Army.
