COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus City Council member is gearing up for the big Thunder in the Valley Air Show this weekend.
Council member Jerry "Pops" Barnes went up in a stunt plane on Friday afternoon.
Barnes tells News Leader 9 he's excited for the jam-packed weekend and explains how the event is good for the Columbus community.
"One thing that I like about the air show, it brings mostly everybody mostly everybody in Columbus together and to me that's really the most important thing," Barnes said. "Everybody comes out and has a good time to see all the professional pilots that do the loop the loops that I think Marty's going to do while I'm up there, and it's a really exciting time."
This weekend, event goers will get to see a series of aerial acts. News Leader 9 will be there to cover it all at Thunder in the Valley.
