(WTVM) - Congratulations to Caleshia Ferguson, who was just recognized as the Youth of the Year by the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley!
Caleshia was one of four finalists, all featured in their own special profiles on News Leader 9.
If you missed any of their inspiring stories, you can get to know these young achievers on our website.
Our own Jason Dennis announced Caleshia as the winner of the award to the hundreds who attended the Boys and Girls Club's Youth of the Year dinner.
Caleshia will get a $500 scholarship when she enrolls at Albany State University in the fall.
We congratulate the other nominees, too: Joseph Knight Jr., Austin Leathers and Jhaqula Tyson.
It's so important for us to recognize outstanding teenagers and give them tangible proof that we care about them and their future success.
The Boys and Girls Club does outstanding work, helping to give teens direction in their lives.
We support the Boys and Girls Club for creating this special way to show teens they matter.
Caleshia Ferguson now competes for State Youth of the Year!
If she wins the national competition it will mean more scholarship money and even a chance to meet the President!
We'll be rooting for you Caleshia!
