Sheriff: Man arrested after breaking in, setting home on fire

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says one man is in custody after breaking into a home and starting it on fire.

The sheriff's office says a witness saw the man break into a home in the 5900 block of Roseland Avenue in Monroe Township around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. A few minutes later the man was seen running from the home. A few seconds after that, the sheriff's office says, black smoke was seen pouring out of the home's front door.

The sheriff's office says they identified the suspect and arrested him a short time later at a Monroe Township home.

The suspect's name has not been released.
