COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The candidate hoping to unseat Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson is pitching his plan for economic growth in the Fountain City.
Colin Martin announced his Back To Black: Growing Tax Revenue By Growing The Tax Base platform on Thursday to voters.
Martin says if elected, he plans to create jobs and increase city revenue.
"Broaden the base of tax payers, connect citizens in Columbus to the jobs that are here and the jobs that are going to grow and raise city revenue by having more people spending more, buying more houses and creating more taxpayers," Martin said.
Martin says he will also work with the Georgia Department of Revenue to develop a plan to connect people with jobs.
Voters head to the polls May 20.
