COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A few young patients at Midtown Medical Center received a visit from a special guest today.

The kids were gathered in a playroom, reading stories about Disney Princesses, when who should walk into the room but Cinderella herself? The classic character is in town this week with Disney on Ice, and she stopped by to say hello to some of her fans who may not be able to attend the show.

This month, Disney on Ice partnered with Chattahoochee Valley Libraries and Muscogee Moms to collect brand new books for the Children's Hospital.

"For every three new board books that community members brought to the Columbus Public Library, we gave them in exchange a free ticket to Disney On Ice's opening night of Princesses and Heroes, as well as a free skate to the ice rink, complimentary of the Civic Center," says Tiffany Wilson, Marketing and Fund Coordinator for Chattahoochee Valley Libraries.

This year's fundraiser was the second annual event of its kind, and the partners raised about 1,000 books to donate to the Children's Hospital here in Columbus.
