Auburn police arrest man suspected of robbing taxi driver at gunpoint

On Thursday, March 20, 2014 the Auburn Police Division arrested 37-year-old Larre A. Holland of Fairburn, Ga. on a felony warrant charging him with robbery first degree.

The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation by the Auburn Police Division into a police report of a robbery dated March 2, 2014. Officers responded to an apartment complex located in the 300 block of Opelika Road in reference to a call of a Taxi Driver being robbed at gun point.

The victim, who was not injured, reported that an individual got into his taxi and stole his cell phone and $14 in U.S. currency and fled on foot once he reached his destination.

Holland was developed as a suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest by the Auburn Detective Division. Through the assistance of the United States Marshalls he was located by agents in Fairburn, Ga. on March 17, 2014.

He was extradited back to Alabama on March 20, 2014 and transported to the Lee County Jail where he is eligible for a $100,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are possible.
