Columbus man accused of stabbing acquaintance in the buttocks appears in court

Posted: Updated:

A man accused of stabbing an acquaintance in the backside appeared in Columbus recorder's court this morning, March 25.

Rony Perez is being held on a $25,000 bond. He is charged with stabbing Baudelio Alvidrez twice in the buttocks Sunday night.

Police say both men had been drinking before an argument broke out.

A translator was needed in court, and the defense raised questions about whether the arresting officer spoke Spanish or not.

The Officer told the court that Alvidrez told him in English that Perez stabbed him. He also testified that Perez was holding the knife, and it had Alvidrez's blood on it.

Alvidrez is in stable condition at Midtown Medical Center.
