TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two first-time ticket-buyers in Tucson hit the jackpot last week in the Early Bird TMC Mega Raffle drawing.

Tucson winter resident and former UA Wildcat, 82-year-old James Meredith, received the news on March 19 that he won the top prize of his and her Chevys and $20,000 in cash, a total value of $80,000.

Gerald Nathanson, a semi-retired Tucson businessman, won a 2014 Fiat 500L, a seven-night Mediterranean cruise and $10,000 in cash, according to a news release.

"It is always exciting to learn who wins the Early Bird prizes," TMC Mega Raffle Executive Director Kathy Rice stated. "Even more exciting: we still have more than 2,800 prizes to give away, including 12 more cars and 14 more vacations."

Among the more than 2,800 prizes are two grand prizes. The first is an A.F. Sterling home where the winner chooses the community and the design, plus a 2014 Hyundai Equus and cash. The next grand prize is a 2014 Tesla Model S, customized to the winner's choice, and cash.

The TMC Mega Raffle will end Wednesday, April 9. Eligible tickets must be purchased by midnight on April 3. For more information, visit www.TMCmegaraffle.org or call (800) 395-8805.
