Toomer’s Corner eagles temporarily removed for redevelopment

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - If you have passed Toomer's Corner in Auburn lately, you may have noticed something is missing.

The iconic eagles perched on top of the 1917 brick gates were temporarily taken down Thursday in preparation for the re-development project set to start next week.

The project will begin with the installation of fencing around the perimeter of the worksite and the closure of a number of sidewalks and crosswalks.

Phase one includes the installation of new pavers, soil replacement and a circular seating wall.
