Snakes beat Rivermen to force a deciding Game 3

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Columbus Cottonmouths came up big offensively to beat the Peoria Rivermen 6-1 on Friday night at the Columbus Civic Center. The victory forces a deciding Game 3 in their SPHL first-round playoff series.

Shayne Stockton and Neilsson Arcibal scored power play goals in the first period. Jordan Draper and Levi Lind added scores early in the second period that chased Kyle Rank from the Rivermen net at the 6:49 mark. Matt Gingera scored twice after Kevin Carr took over between the pipes to seal the victory.

Andrew Loewen stopped 33 of 34 shots to pick up the win.

The Cottonmouths and Rivermen will play on Sunday for the right to advance to the SPHL semifinals. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. ET at the Peoria Civic Center.
