RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Richmond woman confessed to killing her stepsister, hiding her body in a closet and dumping it the next day, according to search warrants.

The warrants show Yvette Hairston, 40, went to police to help identify a body found off North Hopkins Road. When questioned by detectives, the documents show she confessed to killing her stepsister, Samantha Myers, on February 28.

Myers body was found nearly a month later.

According to the affidavit Yvette Hairston admitted to killing Myers in the upstairs bedroom of the home they shared on Evert Avenue, then it says she hid the body in the closest of another bedroom and got rid of the body in the morning

The court records show Yvette Hairston, "researched online how to clean up blood"  and "she also purchased the items she needed to dispose of the body."

The body of the 20-year-old was spotted by a passerby in a ravine not far from McGuire VA Medical Center last week, but police couldn't identify her at the time. So, they released pictures of Myers' tattoos and a sketch of her face which led to new tips.

Hairston is charged with first-degree murder. Her daughter, 21-year-old Selena Hairston, now faces a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

A line in the affidavit says, "Unconfirmed information was received that the victim was killed by her sister -- niece and niece's boyfriend." Police won't discuss the possibility of a third arrest, they will only say this is an ongoing investigation and there is the possibility of more arrests.

The Medical Examiner says Myers died from blunt force trauma to the head. Police searched the home for glass bottles, hammers, pipes or any blunt object that can be used as a weapon, according to the warrant.

Police say the women got into an argument, which led to Myers' death.
