10 arrested for series of home invasions in Henrico, King William

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Ten people face more than 100 charges in connection with a series of home invasion robberies in Henrico and King William over the past seven months, according to police.

Henrico Police say in most of the home invasions since September, the men forced their way into the homes, assaulted the people inside and left with cash and electronics. The victims suffered minor injuries in some of the cases.

Eight suspects are charged in Henrico with crimes ranging from abduction to robbery to gun charges.

The Henrico incidents occurred in the 3900 block of Genarce Lane, 00 block of N. Virginia Avenue, 1700 block of Winesap Drive, and the 100 block of N. Laburnum Avenue. Detectives say the group also went after two homes in King William County in November. One was on Venter Road and Calno Road.

Brandon Price was mowing his lawn on North Virginia Avenue when he got the NBC12 breaking news alert on his phone and read that a home down the street from him is now part of the investigation.

"It was a little nerve-wracking to think that just one block over, somebody invaded a home and invaded somebody's privacy," he said.

"The suspects were coming in the middle of the night, take the victims out of bed at gunpoint and in some cases actually tie them up," said Detective K.L. Johnson with Henrico Police.

Detective Johnson says the armed men worked in groups of four or more.

"One of the victims that was actually tied up was actually assaulted with the weapon," said Detective Johnson. "He received a laceration to his head."

The eight people charged in Henrico are:

  • Lemanuel M. Brown-Fisher
  • Aaron E. Mcarthur
  • Michael A. Cooper
  • Reynard J. Evins
  • Idris B. Kizzie
  • James S. Webb, Jr.
  • Devon L. Scott
  • and Stersean M. Carey

Kayshawn Lee, 21, and Devante Tyler, 19, were arrested in King William County. Detectives say Webb Jr., Scott and Carey were also involved in the King William home invasions. King William detectives say they are also looking into the possibility this could be related to gang activity.

Police say the investigation continues and more charges could be filed on even more suspects.
