COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It's Greek Week at Columbus State University, and the African-American Male Initiative along with Greek organizations hosted a barbecue Thursday for charity.
Students participating in Greek Week are raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley.
A student tells News Leader 9 about the event.
"To truly celebrate our first half achievement of a successful grant dealing with initiative, and just to give back to our students, faculty and our community partners and to team up with Greek life to the students can have a good social environment," said Willie Pickney Jr., executive assistant for AAMI.
Organizers expected upwards of 200 participants including school administrators, community figures, and CSU alumni.
