Most Wanted: Columbus tractor thief


Columbus Police are on thelookout for a bold thief who they say stole a Bobcat tractor worth $45,000 froma local pool company on March 12.

Police say the crime was abold move. The suspect stole a Bobcat tractor from Aquarius Pools on WhittleseyBlvd. in broad daylight.

One officer says, "Thisguy was very brave and didn't care about anyone seeing him. It was during businesshours and he had a hard time backing up with that trailer and pulling thetrailer off. He backed up to it approximately five times."

The suspect is describedas a blonde male with a ponytail. He's about 6'0" with a thin build, and at thetime of the crime, he was wearing a dark colored baseball cap.

According to police, thetractor was pulled away by a burgundy colored GMC truck.

"The truck isprobably a 2000 model with either an extended cab or a four door burgundy bedliner. It has chrome mirrors on it, chrome front and rear bumpers, and itbacked up and circled around the building a few times and then came back.  Then, he turned around and left with it,"says the Officer.

The front loader Bob CatTractor is orange, white and black and has a Stone Tramp on the front.
