The Biscuits scored their first run of the game in the first inning with a groundball from Richie Shaffer that scored Willie Argo to make it 2-1. Argo then hit a bases-empty-blast in the fifth making the score 8-1 Barons.

Chris Beck (1-0) picked up the win for Birmingham, going five innings and holding the Biscuits to two runs on four hits.

The Biscuits' bullpen had a strong showing. Braulio Lara, Andrew Bellatti, Jake Thompson and Matt Ramsey combined to throw 4.1 innings and only allow one run.

Argo finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
