COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Muscogee County's Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing incident that happened Tuesday between two inmates at the Muscogee County Jail.

According to Maj. Randy Robertson, an inmate was attacked in his cellblock by another man with a homemade shank. He was stabbed in his mouth, back, and leg. The victim says his attacker was wearing a cloth around his head.

The victim was treated with stitches in the jail infirmary. His name is not being released pending an investigation.

The suspect would have aggravated assault charges added to any other charge he is already facing in jail. He has yet to be identified.
