BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) -

The storms that rolled through the Ark-La-Tex Thursday night left behind a day of cleaning and residents counting their blessings.

"...And the bed started shaking and then a big bang...," said one Bowie County, TX resident. "...And the house began to move...," said another. "...The window blew out in the back room and we came on out...," said another.

These folks, neighbors on Krobot Circle, thought back to the severe weather that swept through their community. The storms damaged several homes on Krobot, scattering debris throughout the Liberty Eylau neighborhood.

"I am looking for part of the siding from my house, look like it went this way," said Steve Burden, one of the storm's victims.

At daybreak many of those living on the road were out helping neighbors pick up and assess the damage.

"Turn out everyone was fine, just major damage everywhere," said Donnie Dickson, who also experienced the wild weather.

One resident noted that a shed in the neighborhood had been displaced to a new location.

"My son and I were in the living room and my mother was in her bedroom and we started to the bathroom and it started to die down," said Brandie McBride.

Windows were blown out at McBride's residence and large boards were pushed through the side of her home. Windows in at least five vehicles were damaged by the storm. Three of those cars belonged to the Dickson family.

"I said, 'Ron, my car moved' and he looked out and said, 'Where is my truck?' because from where we were standing you really couldn't see the truck," said Teresa Dickson. "But it was shifted so much about 10 to 15 feet."

Bill Spiers, another storm victim, said the wicked weather was brutal but short-lived.

"It was about a 10 second period there when it did all the shaking and then it was over," he said.

The weather radar did not detect a tornado when the storm tracked through this area, but residents say whether tornado or high winds they're glad it's over and no one was hurt.
