Woman charged with stealing a felony amount of clothing

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police arrested a woman Friday. A business reported that a woman had walked out of their store with a large amount of clothing.

Officers arrived and determined that a felony amount of clothing had been taken from the store. According to the officers, the suspect pulled back up near the business while they were on scene.

The suspect was identified Sarita Quinette Scruggs Laurent. Decatur police said several witnesses confirmed Laurent was the woman that took the clothes. She was taken to the Decatur Police Department and charged with one count of theft of property.

She was booked into Decatur City Jail and transferred to Morgan County Jail with a $2,500 bond.
