AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

The Auburn Police Division has arrested two suspects after an ongoing investigation of a theft and fraudulent use of a credit card on March 1.

Police arrested 27-year-old Kyle S. Yarbrough from Five Points, Ala. and 24-year-old Jeremy L. Melton from Clanton, Ala. on felony warrants. Yarbrough was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and arrested on Friday, April 4. Melton was arrested Saturday, April 5 for fraudulent use of a credit card and for an additional charge of theft of property second degree.

The victim told officers that an unknown individual stole her credit card from her purse on March 1, 2014 while she was at an establishment in the 100 block of W. Magnolia Avenue in Auburn. The card was then used to make purchases of more than $200 at two different locations in Auburn.

An investigation into the incident was initiated by the Auburn Police Division, and Yarbrough and Melton were developed as suspects. Detectives obtained felony arrest warrants on each of them for fraudulent use of a credit card and an additional warrant on Melton for theft of property second degree. They were both subsequently located and taken into custody by police.

Yarbrough and Melton were transported to the Lee County Jail. Yarbrough will be eligible for a $3,000 bond, while Melton's bond was set at $6,000.
