COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Your voice counts in this year's election race.

In the first part of WTVM's "Your Voice, Your Vote" series, you'll hear the issues from two men vying for a position with Columbus City Council.

News Leader 9's Brittany Dionne spoke with the two candidates seeking District 1.

Jerry "Pops" Barnes is seeking re-election and opponent Zeph Baker made an unsuccessful run for Columbus city mayor in 2010.

We covered everything from crime concerns and budget deficits, to job creation, asking them the same, five questions.

The election is on May 20. The race for Columbus City Council District 1 is not a primary, so make sure you get out and vote.
