The Food Bank of East Alabama feeds the needy of East Central Alabama through member agencies by soliciting, procuring and distributing excess food and groceries; by developing and monitoring agency networks; and cultivating community awareness about hunger and solutions to the problem of hunger.
The Food Bank of East Alabama:

>Distributed 3.2 million pounds of food to the needy in 2003
The needy receive food totally free of charge and with no strings attached.
