COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

George Washington Carver High School hosted their annual prom fashion show and prom dress giveaway Friday, April 11.

A group of students called the Climax Modeling Troupe produced the show for their peers.

"We wanted to be able to provide an opportunity for any student who didn't have a dress or tuxedo or might night be able to afford a dress or tuxedo, we don't want them to not be able to afford to go to the prom and participate in the event," says Warren Williams, chorus and band instructor.

Some businesses involved with the fashion show include Henri's Formal Wear, Dillard's, Pretty in Pink Boutique and Daphne's Bridal Boutique.

Georgia Association of Black Women Attorney's (GABWA) members donated dresses were given away to students in need at the school. Henri's Formal Wear also gave away a tuxedo rental to a male student.

All students received coupons for makeup, hairstylists, dresses and tuxedos.
