Programs Offered by Second Harvest Food Bank

Food Distribution:

Second Harvest serves as a primary food distribution center for non-profit/charitable organizations in Georgia and Alabama. Agencies across a 14-county area get their grocery supplies from Second Harvest.

The need for this service has increased nearly 10 times since it's inception.

Kids Cafe:

Kids Cafe is a program that provides evening meals to needy children. There are 13 Kids Cafe sites in Columbus, Phenix City, Lumpkin and Richland currently in operation. Annually there are close to 96,225 hot meals served to needy children in our community, or approximately 500 a day and the numbers grow every year.

Mobile Pantry:

The latest addition to the Second Harvest list of services is the Mobile Food Pantry. This need became apparent because of the number of counties that do not have their own food bank. We distribute food boxes to 300-400 needy families on average.
