COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus man who was wanted for the October 2013 murder of Dior Cheney was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Hemet, California on April 14, 2014.

U.S. Marshals apprehended Reginald Jackson without incident at a family member's home and will remain in Riverside County Jail until he is extradited back to Georgia.

Police say Jackson shot and killed Cheney while he was driving on Benning Dr. late last year. Cheney was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man who was with Cheney was shot several times but survived.

A state warrant was issued charging Jackson with felony murder and aggravated assault with intent to murder. A federal arrest warrant was also issued for Jackon's arrest, charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
