AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

An Auburn woman has been arrested for allegedly hitting another woman with her vehicle.

On April 12 officers of the Auburn Police Division responded to the 600 block of Howard Street after receiving a complaint of gunfire in the area.

On arrival, officers observed a 45-year-old female of Auburn, Ala., suffering from injuries to her right knee and severe abrasions to her left hand and wrist. She was transported to the East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance where she was treated and later released.

During the investigation, it was determined that the victim was struck by a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by 20-year-old Amber Elise Meadows of Auburn.

A warrant for Meadows' arrest was obtained and executed on April 14 for the charge of second degree assault.

Meadows was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where she was held on a $5,000 bond.
