An escaped Georgia inmate who was on the run for months is now behind bars again.

Chad Dasher eluded law enforcement after escaping from Tattnall County Jail on Jan. 24, 2014.

Police received a call Tuesday morning, April 15, saying someone had slammed a car into a home, and rammed into a few cars. Dasher was arrested in a pond as he tried to flee a home in Glennville, Ga.

Tattnall County Sheriff Quinton Rush says now that Dasher is back in custody, he won't be getting out again.

"I do not know what he was thinking," said Rush. "We had been friends for a long time, and he would only surrender to me this morning. So that made me feel good, that he knew I would not let anything happen to him."

Officials say Dasher will be supervised everywhere he goes, and will not be allowed to socialize with anyone else in the jail.

Dasher's two oldest sons were also arrested. They were with Dasher when he was captured, and are charged with obstruction of law enforcement while attempting to make an arrest.
