Alexander, Daniels earn PIFL Player of the Week honors

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Lions swept the Professional Indoor Football League weekly player of the week honors for Week 3 of the season. Wide receiver Earl Alexander was named the Offensive Player of the Week while defensive back Damian Daniels earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, the PIFL announced on Tuesday. Both had big games to lead the Lions to a 71-34 victory over the Georgia Fire on Friday night.

Alexander had four catches for 120 yards and three touchdowns, including a 40 yard TD catch on the Lions' first play from scrimmage.

Daniels had a pair of interceptions, one returned 28 yards for a touchdown, the other returned 26 yards to set up another score. The interceptions gives him 99 career picks, setting a new indoor football record. Daniels is a four time Defensive Player of the Year.

The Lions play at the Trenton Thunder on Saturday, then return home for a return matchup with the Fire on Saturday, April 26.
