A man who has reportedly escaped from both the Lee County Detention Facility and the Muscogee County Prison is now in custody once again, according to Columbus authorities.

Officials say Lee County Sheriff Deputies recaptured Darrin Tyron Adams of Phenix City, Ala. on Thursday, April 17, at around 12:30 a.m.

Adams first escaped Lee County Detention Facility on Dec. 5, 2013, while awaiting booking. Investigators said he might have been able to exit through a door that was opened to release another inmate.

Adams was later arrested for a controlled substance violation, and sent to Muscogee County Prison. In April, Adams reportedly escaped again, walking away during work detail on Woodruff Farm Rd.

Previous reports stated that Adams had an outstanding warrant for theft of property issued in 1997. If found, he would face a felony charge of second degree escape, and a possible 10 year sentence in prison.

He is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Facility.
