St. Francis Hospital brings Easter cheer to children in need

Posted: Updated:

St. Francis Hospital got into the Easter weekend spirit on Friday, April 18.

This marks the seventeenth year the Mission Awareness volunteers are giving out super-sized Easter baskets to children in need.

The baskets are filled with everything from jelly beans and chocolate eggs to baby dolls, basketballs, and everyday items like toothpaste.

Students from Saint Anne Pacelli School also helped out!

"It's the Adopt a Bunny project," says Daphne Reardon with St. Francis Hospital Mission Awareness. "We're helping the community by spreading joy to children for Easter time. We've been doing it for about fifteen years, and we have a group and we collect baskets from the employees at St Francis, and we deliver them to the agencies."

This year, Saint Francis Hospital employees collected 385 baskets.
