COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - A suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal car accident following a high-speed police chase from March 2013.
Authorities arrested Quinton Ransom on Friday, April 18. Ransom is believed to be the driver of the car that flipped over, wiped out a mailbox and left tire marks in front of two homes on Luna Drive.
Tyrique Hugling, 17 at the time, was a passenger in the car and was killed in the accident.
The vehicle had been reported stolen and police pursued the car after spotting it at the Lucky Lotto Store on Forrest Road.
Ransom faces the following charges: aggressive driving; duty to report accelerated-involved death, injury, property damage; duty upon striking fixture; failure to stop and render aid; fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; second degree homicide by vehicle without malice; first degree homicide by vehicle without malice; leaving the scene of an accident; murder; no passing; no proof of insurance; no state drivers license; reckless driving; not wearing a seat belt; speeding; stop sign-yield sign violation; theft by receiving stolen property; and driving too fast for current conditions.
