SEALE, AL (WTVM) -

Russell County Corner Arthur Sumbry has identified the deceased victim in a Seale, Ala. murder investigation as 23-year-old Eric Tunnell Anderson.

Anderson was found dead in his trailer on Avalon Cir. on Tuesday, April 22.  He was a student at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. He is originally from Katy, Texas and had only been in town for about a year, according to neighbors.

One of the victim's classmates said he hadn't heard from Anderson in four days, and he considered that out of the ordinary. He tried him on the phone, and on the Internet with no answer. Then, he tried him at his house.

The victim's landlord opened up the door, and the victim's body was in plain sight.  Sheriff Heath Taylor says there is reason to believe the body could have been inside the home since last Friday.

Sheriff Taylor withheld the victim's name from the media until the next of kin had been notified. Taylor says it was an obvious homicide, though he is not confirming the method of attack at this time.

While several of the victim's items are missing from the home, Sheriff Taylor says the Russell County Sheriff's Department is actively working to uncover the details.

"We're not ruling anything out at this point," Sheriff Taylor said. "But we feel like that we have some good things going in this case, some good leads that we're following up. Hopefully, in the next few days we will have developed a suspect and tracked them down."

Anderson's body was taken to Montgomery for autopsy. The results are expected to be back later this week or early next week.
