(WTVM) -

Muscogee County Sheriff officials need your help finding a man on the run.

News Leader 9's Semone Doughton has all the details on why police are searching for him in this week's Most Wanted.

His name is Gerald Tatum and he's been in trouble with the law more than once.

"Mr. Tatum has charges stemming from aggravated assault with intent to rape, so he is defiantly a point of interest we would like to get him off the streets as well," said Deputy Jeffrey Hackey with the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department.

But getting Tatum off the streets will take help from the public, according to Hackey.

Tatum stands 5 feet 7 inches tall. He's 55 years old and weighs 186 pounds.

Locating him may be difficult because there's no last known address for Tatum on record, but Hackey says there are special units within the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department that will continue searching for him until he's caught.

"Gentlemen or ladies who are associated with our sex offenders unit," Hackey said. "Our units have the tendency to go out; they have their own way of being able to find people's last known locations where they lived, their hangout spots, that sort of thing, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find him."

Remember, the arrest of Gerald Tatum can come a lot sooner with your help. Call the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office at (706) 653-4225 if you have any information on his whereabouts, and your identity will remain anonymous.
