COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A few special students received awards at a luncheon Friday, April 25, as part of the Georgia High School/High Tech program.

High School/High Tech is a transition and enrichment program that provides youths with disabilities more opportunities for academic and career development experiences.

"Muscogee county was our very first high tech site in 1997, so we're very excited to have the students in Muscogee County participating again," says Karen Royston, Executive Director of the Georgia committee. "We had over 110 students participating in the program this year."

Muscogee County schools participating in the event included Northside, Shaw, Jordan, Kendrick, Carver and Early College.

WTVM's own morning anchor Chuck Leonard was the emcee at the awards ceremony.
